Our story
It was supposed
to be
two days.
Ayush came to Himachal on holiday.
He ended up calling it home.

A note from Ayush
The trip ended.
I stayed.
I came to Himachal for a couple of days. It turned out to be somewhere I wanted to live.
I've been working in hospitality here since 2019. Over the years, I've met travellers who came for all sorts of reasons. Some wanted to explore. Others were quite happy with a book and a place to sit.
The Lazy and Slow grew out of wanting to make room for that second kind of day. The one you haven't planned. When you can finish your tea, notice something out of the window, and forget what you were going to do next.
Years of travelling through Himachal, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Nepal have shaped the way I host. If you’re planning a walk nearby or a longer journey through the mountains, I’m happy to share routes, places to eat and people I’ve come to know along the way.

You don't owe anyone
a productive holiday.
There are enough places where you have to account for your time. We wanted one where an afternoon could pass without anyone asking what you'd achieved.
Take the long walk, if you feel like it. Stay with your book if you don't. You get to decide what makes this a good day.
Where we are now
One orchard
to put the kettle on.
You'll find us above Jana, in a five-acre apple orchard. Wooden rooms, mountain views, long meals, and a place to sit with your tea.
Stay a little.
Settle in.
A few nights, a few weeks, or a little longer. Tell us who’s coming and what you have in mind; we’ll help you plan your stay.
